Fair Isle and steeking (deliberately cutting your knitting – WHAT?!) are two of the scariest terms in the world of knitting. You can conquer your fear of both at Knit Unto Others with our Fair Isle/Steeking Class this Saturday, May 20th, and next Saturday, May 27th.
You can use one of two patterns,
As always, the cost of the class is free with the purchase of yarn.
After you have knit a sweater for your coffee cup, why don’t you do one for yourself? On Saturday, June 3rd, and Tuesday, June 6th, we will begin our Great Sweater Knit-A-Long (KAL)!
Several of us will be knitting Anne Hanson’s pattern “Triticum” out of Silky Wool, a wonderfully light yet warm blend of wool, silk, and nylon. If you want to choose another pattern, please do so and join in on the fun as we encourage, inspire, and instruct one another in the Great Sweater KAL. Here is a link with a guide for how to take your measurements that you can print out. You can also come into the shop and we will print it out for you!Triticum PatternGreat Sweater KAL Pattern
Even though we are gearing up to go into sweater mode, we haven’t forgotten that summer is just around the corner. Come in and see (and touch) our beautiful spring and summer yarns – perfect for a light shawl or wrap when you need just that little bit of extra warmth. We will also have summer markdowns, including many types of wool and wool blends, throughout the shop. See you soon at Knit Unto Others!
